Gibson’s assesses every item individually before it’s cleaned — considering the fabric, construction, finish, and any problem areas. That’s the same standard we’ve maintained for four generations, and it’s why clients with high-value wardrobes choose us over a local convenience option.
Do you actually clean luxury brands, or is that just marketing?
We have formal relationships with the brands themselves. Gibson’s is one of only two Canada Goose authorized cleaners in Ontario, and we regularly work with pieces from Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Ferragamo, and Celine — often in consultation with the brands directly on fabricare best practices. When a client brings us a significant piece, we’ve almost certainly cleaned that label before.
What cleaning method do you use, and is it safe for delicate fabrics?
We use GreenEarth cleaning — a silicone-based, PERC-free solvent that’s gentle on fabric structure, odour-free, and environmentally responsible. For items where water-based cleaning is the better choice (silk, fine wool, certain knits), we also offer advanced wet cleaning using Italian detergents and specialized machines. The method is chosen per garment, not per batch.
